Elizabeth McLaughlin,

Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (RMHCI)

It is my belief that humans are equipped with inner strength, allowing us to work through difficulties in our lives if we choose to make changes.

I recently graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in May of 2023. I am now a registered mental health counseling intern in the state of Florida. I describe myself as a client-centered, mindfulness-based counselor. Through creating a safe, trusting, and empathetic relationship with my clients, I am able to provide counseling to reach a positive place of wellness in your life.

My theoretical approach to counseling is a mix between psychodynamic and humanistic theories. I believe that unresolved experiences from our past can affect who we are and how we feel about the world today. Through positive change and self-reflective client-based work, you have the power to live a more fulfilling, healthy life.

I provide generalized counseling to teens, young adults, and adults. I have a particular interest in working with teens and young adults who are experiencing relationship challenges, anxiety, insecurities, communication issues, and navigating peer-to-peer relationships. I believe the key component to the client/therapist relationship is understanding that our counseling sessions are a space and time that we share without judgement.

When you are ready to begin your counseling journey, I am here to walk the path with you.
